The University of Mpumalanga has announced an extension of its late application closing date, giving prospective students additional time to apply for selected academic programmes.
According to an official notice released by the university, the new closing date for late applications is 6 February 2026. The extension is intended to accommodate applicants who were unable to submit their applications during the initial application period.
Late applications are currently open for the following undergraduate programmes:
• Bachelor of Agriculture in Agricultural Extension and Rural Resource Management
• Bachelor of Development Studies
• Bachelor of Science in Agriculture
• Bachelor of Science in Forestry
The university has also confirmed that no application fee is required for late applications, easing financial pressure on prospective students seeking admission.

Applicants are encouraged to ensure that they meet the minimum admission requirements for their chosen programmes before applying. Full details regarding programme requirements and the application process are available on the university’s official website.
The extension comes as many institutions across the country experience high demand for limited study spaces, particularly in agriculture- and development-focused programmes that align with regional and national skills needs.
Prospective students are advised to apply as soon as possible, as available spaces may be limited.
