Sol Plaatje University (SPU) has just earned national recognition for its leadership in facilities management. At the 2025 HEFMA Conference hosted by North-West University, SPU walked away with two major awards celebrating its innovation and excellence in campus infrastructure.
The university’s approach to sustainability, student-centered design, and operational efficiency impressed judges and peers alike. SPU has been investing in smart buildings, green spaces, and tech-driven maintenance systems that improve the student experience.
In addition to the awards, SPU is gearing up for its Vice-Chancellor’s Cycle Challenge on 8 November in Kimberley. The event promotes wellness, community engagement, and pride in the university’s achievements.
